Launched in 2015 by Cottonmount Trading, a second-generation clothing business, Xpert had one clear goal – making dependable workwear that’s within reach of every hardworking individual. Growing up surrounded by farms and factories, we understood workwear had to perform in the wind, rain, and cold – because that’s what our customers faced every day.
Ten years on, that commitment hasn’t changed. What started as a carefully designed range of safety boots has grown into a complete collection of workwear, trusted by farmers, trades, and site workers across the UK and Ireland. Every product is still rigorously tested in real working conditions, ensuring it performs when you need it most.
We exist to bring dependable workwear within reach of every hardworking individual. From day one, our focus has been simple: keep you safe, dry and comfortable with products that perform when it matters most. Every piece we create uses Xpert IQ™ technology because good enough isn’t good enough. Our goal? To become the most-loved workwear brand on Earth – not through fancy marketing, but by proving ourselves every single day in the field.
2015
Xpert Workwear emerged following the loss of a key distributorship at Cottonmount. Founder Leonard Quinn responded by creating an in-house brand, developing the name, logo, and packaging on a tight budget of under £2,000.
As the next generation joined the business, they brought fresh vision and ambition—aiming to build a scalable, global brand. Drawing on decades of experience in clothing and footwear wholesale, they poured that knowledge into shaping a modern, forward-thinking workwear brand designed for the next generation.
2016
Xpert celebrate’s it’s First Birthday.
2017
Xpert sells over 50,000 pairs of boots! First ever catalogue launched. Xpert Heritage collection of boots is launched.
2018
Xpert gets a fresh new look with the registration of its updated brand trademark—refining and enhancing the original budget-built identity.
Swampmaster—initially just a range of PU wellies becomes a sub-brand of Xpert
2019
Xpert continues to grow the Swampmaster line with the launch of the No-Sweat Waterproof Range. The introduction of Stormgear and Xtremegear proves to be a major success, quickly gaining strong traction in the market.
2020
2020 marked a turning point. While the world faced unprecedented challenges, we doubled down on product development.
2021
A new chapter begins as a dedicated management team is formed to drive Xpert forward. A key figure in the brand’s development is appointed Managing Director, while additional expertise in product development strengthens innovation capabilities.
Marketing is brought in-house to focus on digital strategy and next-gen engagement, and finance operations are also internalised to support growth and efficiency.
2022
XPERTWORKWEAR.COM is launched. Xpert launches its first workwear collection under the the range PRO. Xpert Junior workwear range is launched.
2023
Xpert Core workboots get updated. Dairywear range launches.
2024
Xpert Foundation launches, supporting charities Diabetes UK and Diabetes Ireland.
Xpert PRO boot range launches.
Refined core values, purpose, mission and vision.
2025
Xpert marks a major milestone with the opening of its new headquarters—featuring a modern, agile office space, dedicated product development suite, a showroom for an enhanced customer experience, and over four times the previous warehouse capacity. By bringing all operations under one roof, Xpert boosts efficiency and product availability.
As part of its 10-year celebration, the company will officially transition its trading name from Cottonmount Workwear to Xpert Workwear.
