I started at Xpert straight out of school on 17th July 2013, over 12 years ago now. Those early days were a real mixed bag, sales support, a bit of warehouse work, marketing, purchasing – the lot.

Over time I focused in on sales support for Reuben and Julian, who were our reps in what was then a brand new market for us – the South of Ireland. From there I picked up the embroidery function of the business, along with sourcing and installing stands – all new territory for us at the time. As the business started targeting bigger clients, I got more involved in onboarding larger buying groups and accounts, which evolved into more of a key accounts role.

Between summer 2022 and autumn 2023 I spent about 13 or 14 months out on the road as a sales rep. It was a steep learning curve, but genuinely one of the most enjoyable stretches of my time here, I probably learnt more about the business and our customers in that short space of time than any other period.

Since late 2023 I’ve been back inside leading a new project selling into the UK mainland. What started as just me has now grown into a UK Sales Team of around six people.

Outside of work, I’m married with two children, so home life is busy and brilliant in equal measure. I’m into all sports, Liverpool FC especially… for better or worse. I love music of all kinds too, and I play drums and piano, neither particularly well. When I need to clear my head, there’s nothing like a good walk outside.
